First we want to thank all of you for diligently laboring in prayer with us over the lawsuits initiated by former Pastor Matt Stokes, as well as the separate lawsuit seeking dissolution of our church body. Your prayers and support have been greatly encouraging through it all.
On Tuesday, July 11th, we were back at the mediation table with retired Superior Court Judge L. Anthony Gibson. And we are pleased to announce that our insurance company and legal team negotiated a monetary settlement that was agreed to by all parties. This not only brought the civil suits to a conclusion, but it also allowed for us to maintain the integrity of our properties and real estate.
With this outcome, Landmark Church is pleased to enter this next chapter with confidence in what the Lord has done and is doing.
To that end, the Elders invite you to our next State of the Church meeting, which will be held on Thursday, August 3rd, at 6:30PM in our main sanctuary. We look forward to sharing more details about the life of the church and we hope you can join us for these updates.
Thank you again for your faithful service to the Body of Christ.
On Behalf of the Elders,
Matthew Maher
